The Consumerist has another example of Christmas Creep - stores putting Christmas items out 142 days before Christmas. Michaels stores put theirs up August 5th! Give me a break.

We just got word that our August 30th show has been canceled so that a sporting event can be broadcast on XM202.
We will let you know if/when we are rescheduled.
Updated: Rescheduled for Sept 20th!

The bloated, greedy tornado of needless spending and debt (known as Christmas) is upon us already - in August. If you think this holiday has gone completely off the rails and should be contained to the month of December(like it used to), you aren't alone.
The Consumerist points out that Christmas ads are already appearing.

Of course, you can join the movement that began on The Lazlow Show and formally announce to your family that you are done with Christmas and you're going to a tropical island to spend time with loved ones, rather than spending a fortune on garbage nobody needs!

Last weekend I was at Gathering of the Vibes, an amazing 3 day music festival held each year. I haven't been to this fest since 2002 unfortunately and was glad to see that the same spirit remained. A ton of amazing bands played. Tens of thousands of people camped next to their cars, partied with strangers, swam in the ocean(the campground is on the south edge of Bridgeport, CT) and chilled out. The Black Crowes played an amazing set. There were reggae beats everywhere. Phil Lesh's new band(he forms a new one about every 2 years) tore it up for nearly 3 hours, and if you are looking for an interesting concert, check out his new lineup. His guitarist, Larry Campbell, is from Bob Dylan's band and the addition of Jackie Greene seals the deal. They are doing a run of NOVEMBER 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18 in New York - plus shows elsewhere. A sample show can be heard here
