Voting for a theocracy - the danger of Sarah Palin

I've volunteered for John McCain years ago, so as you read this take that into account. At one time he was my kind of Republican. No longer.

On last Saturday's show I had a few choice words for religious extremist Sarah Palin, and saw a few emails to her defense. I called her batsh*t crazy. She has signed budget legislation forcing rape victims to pay for their own rape kits. Why would she do such a thing? Because they include emergency contraception, and Sarah Palin beleives raped women should be forced to have the child. She believes her religion should be taught in science class. When we hear stories about Saudi Arabia and the forced teaching of religion in schools and a society that is ruled by religious law, we call them batsh*t insane heathens. When Sarah Palin suggests it here in the United States, they call her a charming hockey mom with "family values." And she has illegally used private emails for government business expressly to avoid supoenas.

For eight years religious extemist neoconservatives have run a credit card bill into astronomical territory with no intention of paying. They have gutted regulatory boards and both McCain and Bush have fought for the deregulation of the financial and investment markets. Record tax breaks have been given to oil companies, who have posted the highest profits in history while average Americans are going broke at the pump. They have stated that the government needs no warrant to listen to your phone calls, read your emails, and the police don't need a warrant to search your car or house. We once mocked Saudi Arabia, China and Russia for employing such anti-democracy measures. And now, our country is literally crumbling at the seams. We are borrowing from China to pay for the occupation of Iraq, to pay to bail out millionaires on Wall Street, and to keep the whole system from collapsing.

I do not have an Obama Tshirt. I don't think the Obama is the saviour - I disagree with a couple of his positions. However a vote for McCain/Palin is a disasterous and dangerous step towards a religious theocracy and our economy collapsing. The Bush/McCain/Palin doctrine is ripping this country apart.

I'm voting Obama. I feel like McCain has betrayed us - and religious extremist Sarah Palin betrays the entire concept of a free and open society. I pray this country makes the right choice in November.

Here's the audio of our show from Saturday Sept 20th that broadcast nationwide on XM202. We had a great time and got some really good feedback on the interview with author Daniel Radosh about his book Rapture Ready.

Lazlow Show 35

UPDATE - We had a great show - and even got some juicy stuff out of Reed. I'll be posting the audio early Monday.

It's odd to think that on 34 different evenings we've gathered together over a case of beer (as well as various schedule 1 pharmaceuticals) and recorded what is known as "The Lazlow Show." Episode 35 is this Saturday and we are really looking forward to it.

All three of us are truly amazed that we have so much support from people around the globe who like listening to the show. We will try to do at least one a month from here on out. Wayne works construction on weekends and I am often writing video game scripts or editing audio so a weekly schedule would be rough. Reed and a weird group of Manhattan men go on frequent vacations together so he's quite busy - and if people can please call in Saturday and ask why a man travels with a group of other men who are all strangely single as well and probably love interior decorating, that would make the show. Please be dialin!

Denying people the right to vote

Remember Florida and the tens of thousands of voters improperly taken off of the voting rolls by the Republican Party in 2000? Get ready for the next soft overthrow of our country. In Michigan, a key swing state, Republicans are beginning a campaign to drop people from the voting records if they've received a foreclosure notice. Even better, the largest foreclosure firm in the area, a firm that has given hundreds of thousands of dollars to the GOP, is helping them do it.

The election is like a bad disney movie

Some funny points here. I know it's common to trash any actor for speaking their mind(unless they are Reagan or Schwarzenegger, of course) but ol Matty makes a good point. A beauty queen from Alaska who went to 5 different colleges over 6 years, has pushed to ban books and thinks Adam and Eve rode dinosaurs around? It is like a bad movie.

Dancing on a motorcycle

The psychological warfare is in full affect. The media is rooting for their favorite candidates so they can get ratings and ignore any journalistic credibility. Since nobody will have an honest conversation about Palin and McCain or Obama and Biden, let's remember the 80s for a moment, as they were awesome and we could smoke and drink in bars with fake ID's, and the cold war made us hate people we didn't know, and America was going broke from giving all of our tax dollars to war contractors. let's remember - in the only way we know how - the way Davey H makes us feel awesome about ourselves. Because he has a motorcycle and he pounds his fists while driving. Wind through hair equals America.Hells yes.

The hypocrisy of right wing blowhards

I try to stay away from politics on this page, leaning more towards ninjas braining themselves in failed backflips, but the hypocrisy of the blowhard right wing nut jobs is staggering. Take a look at a side by side comparison of statements by recent conservatives who are defending secessionist trailer trash Sarah Palin

Lazlow Show fall schedule

Hey, just wanted to post our show schedule for the fall.

Saturday Sept 20th 9pm Eastern

Saturday November 1st 9pm Eastern

We were bummed that we couldn't do a show labor day weekend, but that night Wayne and Chemical Chris polished off a bottle of Grey Goose while I drank red wine and played GTA4 like a drunken arse. Good times.

On the next show - what makes Wayne cry. Plus some possible special guests! No, not anthony this time.

Ban Books and Secede from the Union

When you hate the message, kill the messenger. That's what the McCain camp has been doing in recent days, pointing fingers at the media and threatening legal action over investigations into the woman that could be the leader of the free world if McCain were to die. Yet journalists have unearthed all kinds of scary things, including the fact that Sarah Palin attempted to have books she disagreed with banned from the libraries in Alaska. And her husband was a member of the Alaskan Independence Party which was working to secede from the United States. Real patriotic american, that Sarah. More here.
